Identification of Dental Backrest Upholstery Variants Sirona C/C+/M1+/ProFeel+
Identifying the backrest upholstery for Sirona C/C+/M1+/ProFeel+ dental units can be a challenge at first glance. There are wide and narrow backrest pads, variants with an articulated headrest, headrest plate, or motorized headrest, as well as Standard or Comfort upholstery. We are happy to assist you with the correct identification of your dental upholstery.
Wide or narrow backrest pad?
- You can identify wide and narrow Sirona C/C+/M1+/ProFeel+ backrest pads by the shape of the lower lateral bevels (see graphic).
- For narrow pads, these bevels are arched, while for wide backrest pads, they are straight.

- Sirona C/C+/M1+/ProFeel+ backrest upholstery with an articulated headrest, headrest cushion plate, or motorized headrest differ by the recess in the upper part of the backrest upholstery below the headrest cushion (see graphic).
- Backrest upholstery with an articulated headrest or a headrest cushion plate features a shallow recess, while pads with a motorized headrest have a deep recess in the headrest cushion area.
- The variants with a motorized headrest are only available for the backrest upholstery of Sirona M1+ dental units.

Identification of Upholstery Version: STANDARD or COMFORT Upholstery?
- The Standard or Comfort upholstery for Sirona C/C+/M1+ dental units differs in the foam thickness of the seat and backrest cushions. The thickness difference is approximately 2 cm and is barely noticeable visually.
- Please check your equipment documentation (invoice, delivery note, etc.) for information regarding the type of upholstery.
- If you order both the seat and backrest upholstery together, you can freely choose between Standard and Comfort upholstery (same price, identical fastening), as the height difference will not matter. Only with height differences between the seat and backrest upholstery will the reclining ergonomics for the patient no longer be ideal due to the height discrepancy.
- Should identification not be possible and you only need one of the two cushions (seat or backrest), please feel free to contact our customer service. We will help you determine the correct upholstery type.
Help with Color Selection
- Original Manufacturer Colors: Only original manufacturer colors are displayed in our shop. To see the manufacturer name and manufacturer number (if available) for a color, simply select the desired color. This information will then appear below the "ADD ITEM TO CART" button on the "ADD COLOR SAMPLE TO CART" button.
- Important Note on Color Representation: Please note that colors on screens can vary and may look different depending on the light source. We therefore strongly recommend matching the color beforehand. If in doubt, always request free samples via the "ADD COLOR SAMPLE TO CART" button to precisely match the color with your existing upholstery.
Attention! The right of return is excluded for custom-made upholstery ordered in the wrong color. - Complete Replacement: If you are replacing the upholstery of an entire dental unit or dental chair, you are flexible in your color choice. You can choose any manufacturer's color or even from our entire current color collection to ensure the new color of your upholstery harmonizes with the color ambiance of your practice rooms.
- Partial Replacement: If only a single piece of upholstery on your dental unit or dental chair is being replaced, an exact color match is crucial. If you know the exact manufacturer's color name, you can order your upholstery directly from the shop. If the color name is unclear, please be sure to request free samples for color matching.

- The wide backrest pads for Sirona C/C+/M1+/ProFeel+ are secured via 8 fastening points: Four of these are eyelets, which are held over screw heads at the top and bottom of the backrest, and four of these are plug pins on the left and right of the wide backrest, which must snap into the corresponding counterparts (spring clips).

- WARNING! When dealing with the backrest with a motorized headrest, a mechanism for synchronizing the upholstery position settings is connected to the chair frame. This mechanism is secured to the backrest by means of hook-and-loop tape and coupled to the chair frame via two small metal springs. If this hook-and-loop connection is not properly released before disassembly, it can tear off and be damaged.
- The hook-and-loop connection is located at the top of the backrest, directly below the headrest. Therefore, carefully release this hook-and-loop connection by hand before you begin the actual disassembly.

- IMPORTANT! To secure the separation of the hook-and-loop connection, fix a kitchen towel or similar cloth directly between the hook-and-loop parts. This ensures that the hook-and-loop connection does not unintentionally re-engage during subsequent disassembly steps and thereby gets damaged.
- When disassembling the backrest upholstery, first lift the lower eyelets over the screw heads. To do this, reach under the upholstery and slightly bend away the backrest upholstery carrier so that the eyelets release from the screw caps.
- The plug pins on the left and right automatically release from the spring clips when the upholstery is removed.
- The upper eyelets are released by pushing the upholstery upwards. The upholstery may have to be wiggled a bit until it is released.
Assembly
- IMPORTANT! Ensure before assembly that the plug pins on the back of the upholstery are correctly aligned. Should this not be the case, they can be turned into the correct orientation by hand. This prevents damage to the counterparts in the upholstery carrier (spring clips).
- When assembling the new upholstery, first position the two upper eyelets over the screw caps, and then press the upholstery downwards until the screw heads are in the eyelets.
- In the next step, the four plug pins (two on each side of the backrest upholstery carrier) are carefully pressed into the designated spring clips.
IMPORTANT! Check beforehand with a glance into the gap between the upholstery and the upholstery receptacle whether the alignment of the plug pins directly over the spring clips has occurred. - WARNING! It is common for the counterparts (spring clips) in the dental unit's upholstery receptacle to be pre-damaged. This happens when the plug pins are not correctly aligned, or when the plug pins are not pressed into the spring clips exactly from above during assembly. New spring clips can be reordered from us: Spring Clip (Snap-fit Recess) Art. No. DKL100150.

- IMPORTANT! When dealing with the lower eyelets of the backrest upholstery, the carrier must be slightly angled by hand so that the eyelets are guided cleanly over the screw caps. If you only press the upholstery down, the synthetic leather can be damaged by the screw heads. Therefore, slightly angle the carrier, lift it over the screw heads (see figure "bottom"), and then press the screw heads into the eyelets.

- Hook-and-loop connection: This connection is only susceptible to damage during disassembly and can remain unprotected during assembly. Once you have properly attached the backrest, check the fit of the hook-and-loop connection. Should the hook-and-loop fastener not lie optimally flat, gently detach and realign it by hand again. In any case, firmly press the hook-and-loop connection by hand again at the end to ensure a secure hold.
- Should you have any questions regarding assembly, we are of course happy to assist you.
- Orders with a delivery address abroad: Unfortunately, we do not offer assembly service abroad. Please inquire with your responsible depot or technician whether the necessary knowledge for the assembly of the dental upholstery is available.
